本课程探讨意大利历史, 社会和文化通过性别的概念与诸如性等范畴的纠缠, 比赛, 种族, class, 国家, 和性. 通过学术论文, 艺术作品, 理论文献, 电影, 纪录片, 文学作品, 报纸上的文章, 学生们将接触到各种各样的思想, 辩论, 以及在意大利语境中塑造并仍在塑造性别建构和感知的话语. Some of the issues this course will address are: the representation of gendered identity in Renaissance 艺术作品; imposed and perceived gender roles in the fascist era; theories and practices of Italian feminism; the uneasy emergence of LGBTQ+ issues on the public arena; and the role gender plays in the construction of postcolonial subjectivity.
